Evening Talk at Mylor Yacht Club

On Friday 24th February Cornwall Blood Bikes were very kindly invited to give a talk at Mylor Yacht Club.

On arrival at the club house we were made extremely welcome by all in attendance.

The volunteers that attended were John Penlerick, Martijn Huddlestone, Jayne Penlerick and Simon Williams with the marked fleet bike.

For Martijn this was his first time attending such an event and he had come along to lend his support  but also to see the manner in which a talk was carried out.

The talk began at 20:15 prompt given and presented by Simon Williams.

Simon gave a brief resume of himself and why he had become a blood biker and most importantly the role of CBB NHS liaison manager.

Simon covered a wide range of subjects from the jobs and miles we had covered during 2016, what we carry and how we do, the fleet bikes we ride, how we work in partnership with the NHS, social media influences and most importantly to round the evening off the future for Cornwall Blood Bikes.

At the end there was time for questions and answers, and the room was a wash with risen arms waiting to ask questions.

As the talk drew to a close there was a huge round of applause for CBB and as everyone mingled socializing at the end of the evening, there was not a moment when all four of us volunteers were not occupied chatting with members of the club who were so interested and had such fabulous ideas.

As a charity we don’t have all the answers and are always more than happy to listen and learn from others.

As everyone bid their farewells there was time for people to get their selfie moments with the fleet bike and rider!

CBB would like to send a very big thank you to Mylor Yacht Club and it’s members for their wonderful hospitality on that evening which was enjoyed very much by all of us.
