Morval Vintage Steam Rally 2016
The Charity was approached at the Lanlivery event by the Morval Vintage Steam Rally Secretary, Mrs Barbara Reynolds. We chatted at our gazebo for some minutes about the CBB and what we do within the county. Barbara informed us that the Rally was interested in donating some money to us and would be available to turn up to the presentation event to collect it.
On Saturday 19th November, Geoff Crocker, Alan Moss and I turned up to the Smugglers Arms at Seaton for the event, probably too early as we were unsure of how the event would play out.
After some food, the presentation began. The Cornwall Blood Bikes were called forward. The whole thing was funnily played down, until we caught site of the large presentation cheque. Now, considering we have never attended the event and have never had anything to do with Morval, the site of the amount was a shock. The Committee awarded us £5000 (five thousand pounds) and to the best of my knowledge, the biggest single donation we have ever received. Geoff went up to accept the cheque and I gave a small presentation about our work and the impact that this will have on the Charity, as well as profusely thanking them.
Morval is soon to have a new Committee and the venue is to change for 2017 but we are invited to attend with all our recourses to show off and further spread the word.
From all at the Cornwall Blood Bikes Charity, may we express our thanks for your generosity and very much hope to see you at the Rally in 2107.
