Pentillie Defender Day

Sunday 2nd April was probably the hottest day yet this year and it was fantastic. This was the first event of its kind for the season. The gazebo and kit was set up on Saturday ready for a relaxed start of Sunday.

In attendance was Alan Moss, Dave Read, myself and John Penlerick. Dave Trudgeon turned up initially, took his helmet off and duly got called away to Bodmin / RCH.

Land Rovers everywhere, a Formula 1 car, 2 TESLA’s, racing lawnmowers, a petrol heads heaven.

It was the Mini Moto’s first outing and the children that were attracted by it were excellent. The buttons for the siren were found very quickly. As the real thing can be intimidating for the youngsters, this took over well. We have the possibility of 2 new riders; one is an instructor and interest from a lady who would like to coordinate. We were also approached by a Rotary Club who showed particular interest in us and would like a presentation in the near future.

These events are so important to get our messages across to the public and it is working very well.

It was a gorgeous day with a fantastic turn out, first time we have been invited but I’m sure, not the last,
