Rotary Club of Penzance Cheque Presentation
We were the recipients of a £500 donation from the Rotary Club of Penzance onSaturday 15th April 2017 at the Godolphin Arms Pub in Marazion.
The money that we received was from the Rotary’s general trust fund, the money gets raised in a number of ways by the club. They have a ramble in aid of local charities, the local fireworks in Penzance is done as a community project and the profits go out for charitable giving.
In attendance was Prue Willday and Diane Hickman of the Rotary, Jayne Penlerick and Tony Symons. A huge thanks to Tony Symons and Stuart Hamilton. Tony for bringing the fleet bike, whilst on rota and Stuart, for rearranging some jobs to allow him to turn up with the bike.
The Manager of the Godolphin Pub, Geoffrey, allowed us to put the bike in the adjoining gardens so as we had the stunning St Michaels Mount in the background. Also, we were afforded some fantastic coffee and hospitality courtesy of Geoffrey.
We were approached by several tourists to find out who we were and what we were doing, surprised to find out that there are charities such as ours in their own areas doing the same work. Yet again, the message spreads.
