Wheels of Honour

In Loving Memory remembering our volunteers who are no longer with us.
Always loved, very missed and never forgotten.
Remaining with us and Riding For Life

Ian Prout

7th April 1961 - 13th April 2024

We pay tribute to our charities late Vice Chair Ian. We thank him for his dedication for over 7 years committing himself to advanced riding, coordinating taking our NHS calls and dispatching riders, fundraising, managing our Blood Bike Fleet cameras to ensure rider safety, attending talks and raising awareness of what we do.

Whatever we needed if he could help, he always would.

As our Vice Chair we were shocked by his sudden and unexpected passing.  He was an unwavering support, a sounding board, a friend, a confidant who believed passionately in our charity and championed our professionalism. A tower of strength, advice, support, kindness and guidance which was deeply valued.  As a charity his loss remains more than he will ever know for this remarkable human being that for so many of us were proud and privileged to call him a friend.

Ride safe our dear friend until we meet again.

Jeremy Weekes

30th November 1962 - 22nd May 2024

Jeremy was relatively new to the Cornwall Blood Bikes family when his tragic and untimely passing was announced. Jeremy had not long retired and his plans were to embark on his adventures, spending more time with his family and his passions of advanced riding in his position as IAM National Observer, another volunteer role, donating his time to give support ensuring the teaching of the highest and safest motorcycling.

Jeremy was so very proud to put on his high vis Blood Bike jacket and be part of Cornwall Blood Bikes as it was something that he wanted to do for some time, and on the lead up to his well earned retirement he achieved his wished.

Jeremy may have been with us a shorter time than other volunteers but he was a Cornwall Blood Biker; an individual who stepped forward to offer his skill set, giving up his time with dedication to have a motorbike rider with a purpose all for the benefit of others.

Jeremy was one of our own, a true part of our family and grieve his tragic loss with immense sadness.

May you have safe travels and Rest in Peace until we meet again.

Burt Reynolds

3rd December 1955 - 1st January 2019

As the New Year of 2019 was welcomed in with tremendous hope for new beginnings, Cornwall Blood Bikes received heartbreaking news. Our very own advanced fleet bike rider Burt Reynolds had passed away on New Years Day following a courageous battle with a brain tumour.

In August 2018 Burt was diagnosed with a brain tumour, and he stated quite clearly that he had no intention of handing in his CBB high vis jacket.

My goodness Burt proved he was very much a man of his word!
Burt underwent extensive treatment, and despite everything that was thrown at him, never missed a fundraising event, CBB members meeting or charity presentations. He could always be found laughing, charity pot in hand, and quite often a pasty!

Throughout all Burt’s illness and treatment the one thing that has shone clear to his CBB friends and colleagues was his sheer determination, dignity, and courage. He never ever stopped caring for others. Always showing his kindness, and compassion and being more concerned over what other people were going through, and of course never losing that incredible sense of humour. For all of us who had the pleasure of knowing Burt so well, we treasure his knowledge and wisdom and most importantly the gift of his friendship.

Ride safe and we will catch up with you dreckly.
