Cornwall Blood Bikes on what was a dreadful November evening, as the Winter began to set in Cornwall were reflecting on what was an exceptionally special weekend for them as a charity.
In August 2018 Cornwall Blood Bikes were delighted to announce that we received a donation, which have enabled us to purchase a brand new BMW 1200 RT (P).
Cornwall Blood Bikes were so delighted to discover that we had been the very lucky beneficiary of money donated by The Mark Benevolent Fund on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons.
The funding for these awards came from the Brethren of the The Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons who took part in the Mark Benevolent Charity Walk in May 2017 around the Royal Parks of London.
Cornwall being represented by the Provincial Grand Master Mr. Kevin Hicks, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Peter Johns, Mrs Carole Johns, Mrs Denise Trevains and Mr. Simon Trevains.
The final sum raised far exceeded expectation, raising the astonishing sum of £437, 934!
The Trustees of the Mark Benevolent Fund decided to announce toward the end of 2017 that the Fund would support nationally 17 Blood Bike Charities with a donation of £300,000 for the purchase of 9 motorcycles and 8 blood cars.
This comes as The Mark Benevolent Fund celebrates its 150th Anniversary.
Cornwall Blood Bikes are exceptionally grateful to Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Cornwall and its Lodges and members from across Cornwall for their outstanding contribution.
The brand new fully liveried emergency bike, a BMW 1200 RT (P) will proudly bear the name “Mark Mason”.
This stunning bike was officially unveiled on Friday 9th November 2018 by the Right Worshipful Brother Mr. Kevin Hicks, The Provinical Grand Master, for the Cornwall Mark Master Masons, with other representatives from the brethren of Cornwall Mark Master Masons joined by CBB Chair James Forder and CBB volunteers on the presentation evening held at Ocean BMW Bikes, Falmouth.
For us as a charity we would like to acknowledge our sincere gratitude to The Mark Benevolent Fund and The Cornwall Mark Master Masons, as an organisation for the support and tireless work and commitment you give to not just charities like ourselves, but other fantastic local charities and good causes supporting them with donations to enhance the work carried out in our local communities.
This generous donation, which will make such a difference to our charity which last year covered over 96,000 operational miles, covering more than 2,100 jobs.
This is done all for free, across the community of Cornwall and beyond, collecting & delivering to hospitals and hospices.
“Mark Mason” has proudly become a member of our fleet and went on operational duty straight after the official unveiling.
This bike has gone onto develop our service further and in turn help and serve the wider communities of Cornwall, improving patient care and enabling that care to be brought closer to home.
